Having been around for over 20 years, the China Bear has become an institution to Lantau and Hong Kong. Throughout its existence, the Bear has been a favourite stop for thirsty hikers, bikers, paddlers and beach goers.

For the Lantau locals China Bear is an integral part of social life. They are a friendly bunch, and the island mind set is infectious: You may leave Lantau with a few more friends - or not leave at all....

Perched on the waterfront right next to the Mui Wo ferry pier, the views from the bar are unmatched. Away from the city, you can relax and watch the ferries come and go, or enjoy a moon rise over Hong Kong!

Always evolving and improving, nowadays the menu at the Bear is best described as 'Everlasting Summer'. It's mostly Mediterranean favourites, but we couldn't resist adding a few Asian darlings and Northern comforts. Our emphasis is on value and Chef Alden delivers beautiful, yet unpretentious dishes.
